OUR MISSION

The cure for Cancer would undoubtedly be one of the greatest human achievements the world has ever seen. As individuals achieving such a cure seems insurmountable, if we all adopt that way of thinking, then it probably is. Tri-Life is a collection of people who believe that we can, collaboratively by funding Cancer Research UK’s research; help #SPEEDTHECURE. Tri-Life is a pioneering take on the triathlon format, consisting of three flagship events each year ranging from organised race events in the UK to summiting mountains in Africa. Tri-Life aims to put the adventure back into fundraising, don't live life average, live life epic.

THE STORY BEHIND THE MISSION

Tri-Life is a Cancer Research UK affiliate, with the dual purpose of raising money to help CRUK #SPEEDTHECURE for Cancer and to put the FUN into FUNdraising for all of the Tri-Lifers out there. How do we do it? Good question, I am glad you asked.  Three epic challenges spread out over the year form the core Tri-Life challenges.  A whole host of additional events are run alongside the core events scattered throughout the calander year.  In fact, if you want to help #SPEEDTHECURE and have an idea for an event, why not get in touch and let us sprinkle some Tri-Life adventure dust upon it and get the event organised for you?

We are an ever growing group of people who are involved with three ever changing fundraising events over the course of the year.  Formed in 2013 with just one man, Tri-Life swiftly became over 60 participants and raised over £120,000 for Cancer Research UK.  Moving into 2015 the number of participants has surged and so to has the fundraising goal.

Managed by Jamie Mills and Owain Pennington, two like-minded and fairly average gents from differing backgrounds, with a penchant for an adventure,  Tri-Life is about proving that coming together as a group can conquer anything in this life.

LAST YEARS EVENT

After losing his step-father to a brutal battle with cancer in 2012, Jamie Mills decided that the time for standing on the sidelines watching cancer devastate lives of suffers and families was over.

What started out as one man's desire to raise some money for Cancer Research UK became a year long adventure for 60 individuals. From the streets of London and the Virgin London Marathon to the open roads of the French countryside on the London to Paris bike ride, Tri-Life fundraisers from all over the UK went through the pain barrier in their bid to #SPEEDTHECURE. The 2013 flagship event took 26 individuals to the summit of Africa. Kilimanjaro, the tallest free standing mountain in the world is all that stood between our intrepid fundraisers and the completion of the 2013 series. Altitude sickness, blisters, fatigue, blood, sweat and tears all palyed their part but the Tri-Life team became the first of it's size to summit with 100% of the climbers together at the summit. The Tri-Life spirit exhibited throughout 2013 ensured that almost £120k was raised for Cancer Research UK.

"Amazing efforts everyone! A huge, huge thank you from everyone at Cancer Research UK for all your hard work in organising these incredible challenges"
